Shari Stottler
MENDON TOWN BOARD
Shari is married to Gary and has two school age children. She is a resident of the village and works part-time as an Automotive Engineer for an automotive supplier, Robert Bosch, LLC. Her part-time position provides her with the flexibility needed to devote time to Town Board service.
Shari currently serves as the President of the Mendon Public Library Board of Trustees. She also volunteers at her children’s schools including serving on the Lego/FIRST Robotics Steering committee.
Shari has decided to run for Town Board out of concern for the methodology used to make decisions by the Town Board. “There has been a general disregard for data and professional opinions when decisions are made that affect this community and its future, including input from many experts in our community that have offered assistance with issues facing our town. Decisions are too often based on what will benefit a few without weighing the benefits for the entire town that the current Board was elected to represent.
Some of our goals:
- Maintain open and transparent town government as established by our current Supervisor, Moe Bickweat.
- Fiscal responsibility aided by quality long-term planning.
- Preservation of open space and the agricultural roots of Mendon.
- Partnering with the Village of Honeoye Falls and neighboring communities to preserve our town’s heritage while fostering well planned development.
- Development serving multiple purposes (the value of an owner’s property can be maintained or enhanced, we can attract and retain business, and we can strengthen our tax base, a necessity if we are to keep control of our property taxes).
- Resolution of the library issue.
- Create solutions to provide safe outlets for our teens after school and during the summer.
